My cousin Kevin passed away unexpectedly some years back. He was a cool person & an awesome guitarist. It was actually Kevin who inspired me to become a musician in the first place but that’s another story (which can be read here http://www.myspace.com/tonylongworth/blog/357761325).
I’ve always regretted not having the chance to write or play music with Kevin. He lived in another country towards the end of his life so I never got much chance to see him yet we had many things in common. I remember once at a family get-together discovering the fact that we both shared the same love of the music of Frank Zappa.
I was recently rummaging through some old recordings only to discover a selection of Kevin’s work. I then realised that he’d once covered one of my favourite songs ever, Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here. Then the thought hit me; why not record my own vocals along to that track so in a weird electronic way, I would have a chance to perform with Kevin after all.
So here’s the track, in memory of my cousin – enjoy…
