The Classic Horror Campaign is coming to Manchester on the 23rd and 24th of July 2011 and will be staged in The Lass O’ Gowrie on Charles Street in Manchester. This ideal location is in close proximity to the central train stations of Manchester and there’s an Ibis Hotel on the same street.
The event will be a chance to watch great classic horror movies and to network and meet fans of classic horror in a fantastic Victorian pub. Night of the Demon (1957)
Based on Montague R. James’ classic shiver tale Casting the Runes, Night of the Demon is an exercise in psychological terror. American Professor Dana Andrews investigates a devil-worshipping cult active in England.
Vampire Circus (1971)
A village in Nineteenth Century Europe is at first relieved when a circus breaks through the quarantine to take the local’s minds off the plague. But their troubles are only beginning as children begin to disappear and the legacy of a long-ago massacre is brought to light.
The Sunday screenings begin at 6.30pm with the following movies being shown:
Cat People (1942)
An American man marries a Serbian immigrant who fears that she will turn into the cat person of her homeland’s fables if they are intimate together.
Scream and Scream Again (1970)
A serial killer, who drains his victims for blood is on the loose in London, the Police follow him to a house owned by an eccentric scientist.

Saturday 23rd July: Jam packed day with an Ideal (TV series) convention with the great Graham Duff in attendance. There will also be literature talks from comics supremo Bryan Talbot and horror/thriller writer Stephen Gallagher at 5pm and 6:30pm respectively.
Sunday 24th July: Writers George Mann and Paul Magrs will be present at 5pm, both of which have a sound appreciation of horror and the macabre in their work.
